Emilio Leyton “Sci-fi and Movies” Painting Exhibition
Emilio Leyton is passionate about the seventh art and especially about film illustrations. In the painting exhibition he has prepared for artAmore Sitges, he pays tribute to the great masters like Robert McGinnis, Richard Amsel, Bob Peak, his favorite Drew Stuzan or Norman Rockwell and San Julian among others.
The opening will take place on September 30th at 6 pm, and the exhibition can be seen at artAmore Sitges until October 22nd, 2023, as part of the exhibitions dedicated to the 56th edition of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia.
Emilio is self-taught, he trained with the painter José Monzón for a short period of time, but he has been always drawing since he was a child with passion, for 27 years, starting in the world of painting with oil reproductions of great painters, until his passion for the cinema made him rescue illustrations of great films. He gives his vote to the great artists of cinematographic illustration and hopes that this art will return again to the world of cinema.
Emilio paraphrases the director Guillermo del Toro “there are posters that are a weekend adventure, that you forget later, they are one-night stands. Hand-painted posters, they are lifelong love stories.”
