JORDI ESTIVILL: Born in Barcelona in 1959. He studies arts at the Massana School in Barcelona – Monograph of Sculpture and Modeling Technique, at the School of Arts and Crafts of Barcelona La Llotja. Graduated in Performing Arts by Institut del Teatre of Barcelona.
He worked in theater and television but since 1997 he opted for plastic art expression. In this wide space of artistic disciplines, he works painting, sculpture and above all explores the techniques of collage and assembly, where he finds his most personal and characteristic way of expressing himself. Using a diversity of recycled materials such as wood, etc., his compositions show rhythm, harmony and balance and they reflect his positive, detailed and communicative creativity that identifies Jordi, his own personal style.
Jordi has held both national and international exhibitions (Barcelona, Seville, Madrid, Albacete, Tarragona, Reus, Olot, Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Girona, Lleida, Terrassa, Teià, Barberà de la Conca, Mercadal, Brussels, Paris…) that have confirm him as a mature and consolidated artist.
ASSEMBLIES
Pictures with fragments of wood and objects found that catch the eye of the artist due to its shape, texture and color. Elements that acquire meaningful value and relevance when are treated, matched and combined to uncover unforeseen qualities. Constructive solutions in which he conducts a concert and orchestration of tones, values, colors, forms, harmonies of volumes, rhythms and balances. He creates harmonious and balanced compositions that transmit a poetic message of musicality.
MIXED TECHNIQUE: COLLAGE-PAINTING
Works on wood using different materials such as paper, cardboard, cutouts of old magazines and other materials found in different markets of old objects, in Barcelona, London, Beijing, New York … Elements that inspire, spark and stimulate the visual representation of different Imaginary characters and compositions where rhythm, balance and color have a significant meaning.
