artAmore Sitges at Sitges ReciclArt 2025
From August 2 to September 21, Sitges hosts the 8th edition of Sitges ReciclArt, the event that brings together art and environmental awareness through creative recycling. This year marks its debut as a biennial format, offering a major collective exhibition at Miramar–Cultural Centre, along with a route of parallel shows in galleries and hotels across town.
As part of the programme, ArtAmore Sitges presents “Mouse?” by artist J.M. Pastó (June 21 – August 25), a series of sculptures reimagining Mickey and Minnie Mouse through the assemblage of recycled materials. Each piece is born from the recovery of forgotten objects —vintage hardware, metal pieces, fragments of wood— giving them a second life with artisanal precision and a playful, emotive touch.
In addition, ArtAmore Sitges offers a permanent exhibition of recycled art, featuring works by Jana Álvarez, Rafael Arroyo, Nanin y Mestre, Hatice Rana Tarhangil, Eduard Palaus, César Santos, among others, bringing together the work of more than 160 artists who have been part of this space since 2014.
The ReciclArt Route is completed by shows at OOA Out of Africa Gallery, and large-scale works exhibited in hotels such as Eurostars Sitges, Meliá Sitges, Hotel Calipolis, Estela Barcelona and Sabàtic Sitges Hotel.
Art, recycling and creativity meet in Sitges to invite the public to see objects differently: not as waste, but as potential works of art.
