Alfredo Zarazaga – Portraits of the inhabitants of the “Corral”
The Painting Exhibition by Alfredo Zarazaga “Retratos de Habitantes del Corral” is the metaphor of a global problem from a local point of view.
With these portraits Alfredo wants to emphasized the importance of every marine being, no matter how small they are, they are part of that WHOLE of which we are all a part. They represent the vestige of the natural wealth and subsistence that were the “corrales” (The Chipiona fish pens).
His work always projects the same concept: “We belong to a WHOLE”. This concept analyzed is the result of his professional history using different materials and supports (sculpture, painting, drawings and prints) and working recycled materials, which allow him to reuse something already discarded and give it a second chance, he converts it into a new unique “object” with a different meaning.
