“recuperart” by Joaquim Riera

artAmore Sitges presents Joaquim Riera’s painting and sculpture exhibition “recuperart” from May 11^th to June 10^th.

The opening will take place on May 11^th at 6.30pm

With his works, he makes a wake-up call to society about the urgency of turning what we throw away into something more than waste, the creativity of his works enriches the soul and is an awakening to life to appreciate it in its deep details, in which we pass by without noticing its existence.

(Barcelona, 1953) Joaquim Riera is a retired graphic designer who discovered recycling to create art in 2012. He manipulates and transforms cardboard, egg cups, plastics, cans, tetra brick containers, printed circuits, wood, iron, etc., extending their life and contributing to making a more sustainable world. He creates artworks with their own particular life and visual effects that change according to the viewer’s point of view. His sculptures are based on the assemblage of iron and wood, iron and objects that have become obsolete over time, wood rescued from nature itself is the source of inspiration for all of his works.
