Art and Masculinity at ArtAmore Sitges
Welcome Bears! Art and Masculinity at ArtAmore Sitges
From September 5 to 15, Sitges comes alive with Bears Sitges Week and ArtAmore Sitges joins the celebration with two exhibitions honouring diversity and the power of the male body.
From August 27 to September 28, the sculptor Koldo Logan unveils “Athletes: David & Lars”, two new pieces expanding his series dedicated to the male body as symbolic territory. Strength and vulnerability, determination and introspection are shaped into a sculptural dialogue paying tribute to human anatomy and emotion.
Opening: Wednesday, August 27, 6:30 pm.
At the time, the gallery presents “Les Fleurs du Mâle” by Sébastien Rouanet, an elegant, sensual and nostalgic visual journey inspired by icons such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Pierre et Gilles, and Tom of Finland. Acrylic, oil, ink and watercolour merge to explore queer masculinity with a pop, critical and highly aesthetic language.
Two artistic visions, one shared homage to the freedom of being and showing oneself.
Joint opening: Saturday, August 30, 6:30 pm.
